Dr Gaye Moore, BN (Hons), MPH, PhD
Research Fellow/Project Officer

Dr Moore is project coordinator for three studies:

  1. The Primary Malignant Glioma (PMG) study, which aims to develop a model of care for patients with PMG and their carers, using both epidemiological and qualitative methods;
  2. The Palliative Care Research Network project, which aims to build a successful collaboration of palliative care research with Victorian research institutes and clinicians; and
  3. A multimedia resource to support family carers of people receiving palliative care.

Dr Moore has over 30 years of nursing experience in the acute hospital setting.  She completed her PhD in 2008, which involved the development of a risk screening tool for homeless people based in the emergency department at St Vincent’s Hospital.  Dr Moore also completed a Master of Public Health at The University of Melbourne in 2009.  Previous research involved the review of a Medical Emergency Team as a risk reduction strategy for critically ill patients at Dandenong Hospital.  Additional project development was undertaken as a project officer for the Designing Care project at St Vincent’s Hospital, focusing on the continuity of care for older patients throughout the health service.  In 2002, she coordinated The Cottage, a hospital in the home centre for homeless people, also at St Vincent’s.
