Tina coordinates the research program at the Centre for Palliative Care and provides support to all research staff within the centre in relation to data collection and analysis, ethics, report writing, stakeholder management and grant development. She chairs monthly research meetings, organises the centre’s newsletter and assists with project budgets. Tina also liaises with external agencies to develop collaborative working relationships.
Tina’s primary research interests are related to the emotional well-being of family carers of people receiving palliative care and carers’ experiences of grief following bereavement. She recently developed two multi-media resources relating to supporting family carers within palliative care and has received a grant to develop a further resource for family carers. Prior to working in palliative care, Tina has been involved in research into adolescent disordered eating, employment and mental health, and social inclusion of people living with a mental illness. Tina has also previously worked as a psychologist with adolescents with mental health problems and with young people and adults living with a chronic illness or disability.
Tina has a number of published articles in peer reviewed journals. She has received one consumer grant and one ‘link and learn’ grant from the Victorian Cancer Agency.
