As Education Coordinator Karen oversees the delivery of Postgraduate Palliative Care Education including the Specialist Certificate, which is a multidisciplinary 12 month course accredited with The University of Melbourne. The Centre also provides a variety of short course options, targeted at a range of disciplines.

As Project Officer for the VPCNPC, Karen’s aim is to assist with the development, support and mentorship of palliative care nurse practitioners in Victoria.

Karen has worked in palliative care since 1994, in clinical, education and research capacities.  Her research activity has included involvement on several multi-site projects on a range of issues including support for family carers and symptom issues, the results of which have been published in peer review journals.  She has a strong interest in education and has been involved in multi-disciplinary education at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level for several years. Karen has an honorary appointment with the University of Melbourne.
