Trainee Resources

Mentoring Program

The aim of this Program is to provide ongoing support for trainees and new physicians. It aims to complement but not replace clinical supervision – which is an essential part of training

Please contact the VPMTP Mentoring Program Coordinator for more information.

Education Program

The aim is to provide regular, organised and relevant access to an education program complimentary to current training and practice in Palliative Medicine.  In the 2012/2013 Program, sessions are conducted twice monthly at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and twice per term at other nominated metropolitan and regional sites.

The VPMTP Education Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the VPMTP Education Program.  This is achieved by developing and maintaining the Program Meetings, exploring and supporting the development of new training opportunities and evaluating and reporting on the Program outcomes.

Registrars appointed to an accredited Palliative Medicine Training Position in 2012/2013 are given priority to attend the Education Program.  Please contact us or speak to your Supervisor for further details.

If you are not in an accredited training position and would like to attend, please email your interest to the VPMTP Education Program Coordinator or the VPMTP Medical Coordinator for futher details.
