CPC Foundation
Palliative care aims to provide comprehensive and specialised support to patients diagnosed with an advanced, non-curative disease and their families. Its focus is on alleviating suffering and helping patients live as comfortably as possible.
Palliative care also supports family carers during the caregiving period and into bereavement.
The Centre for Palliative Care is an academic unit located at St Vincent’s Hospital and is a collaborative centre of The University of Melbourne. The Centre is responsible for conducting research and educating health professionals in order to improve the quality of palliative care provided to patients and their families.
The CPC Foundation actively supports the work of the Centre through its fundraising endeavours.
