How to Support Us

- Small size research grants – these will assist the development of pilot studies to explore new ideas or possible approaches that may subsequently be developed into larger investigations.

- Financial ‘top-ups’ to existing scholarships offered by other granting bodies, such as the National Health and Medical Research Council and Victoria Cancer Agency.
- Prizes for top students in a course conducted by the Centre.
- Support for the International Palliative Care Family Carer Research Collaboration(set up via the Centre and linked to key academic units internationally. This collaboration is particularly focused on the impact of an eventually fatal illness upon the person’s family, including studying what interventions and resources can help families negotiating care and grief for a loved one.
- Activities that foster research collaboration with key individuals or institutions, whether locally, interstate or overseas.
- Support for the state-wide palliative care library (in partnership with Caritas Christi Hospice) and professional library for Centre staff.
- Sponsorship of public lectures, public education forums, newsletters, as well as the Centre’s annual conference.
- Support for the marketing activities of the Centre such as the development and maintenance of its brochures, newsletters, website etc.
- Clinical – academic link position to foster the widespread adoption of the growing evidence base into practice to ensure excellence of care is available to all those in need and their families.
- Professional development for Centre staff (eg. annual staff retreat, gift vouchers, assist with costs of conference attendance).
