Information for patients, families and carers

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.

The Centre for Palliative Care is not a provider of clinical palliative care; it is a centre that undertakes education and research in palliative care.  If you want more information about palliative care please contact Palliative Care Victoria.  If you are looking for a palliative care service, please refer to this Department of Health website for a list of services and a postcode search.
